VuFind currently contains a partially-completed module for OAI harvesting and serving. This should be completed, documented and made available somewhere in the UI.

I agree. It would be great to leverage the work XC are doing with their MST. Using MST would make it easier to get records from sources other than the ILS into VuFind too.

I see that Andrew has opened a ticket for the integration (VUFIND-236). I have linked these tickets together -- if an XC integration eliminates the need for VuFind's OAI module, we should remove the redundant, incomplete code. If they are complementary, we still need to do this cleanup.

As of r3026, VuFind now has full OAI-PMH server support -- see documentation at http://vufind.org/wiki/tracking_record_changes#oai-pmh_server_functionality . For OAI-PMH client support, see http://vufind.org/wiki/importing_records#oai-pmh_harvesting . For notes on XC integration, see the comments on VUFIND-236. All aspects of this ticket are now resolved.
