Description |
Amazon's ASIN scheme is based on ISBN10 (ASIN is the ISBN10 for books that have ISBN10). However, getting an ASIN for ISBN13 is a real pain. Many of our newer titles (post 2000-ish) have both ISBN10 and ISBN13, but currently vuFind only looks at the first ISBN, which on newer titles is often the ISBN13. By having it look to see if there is an ISBN10 and preferring it over a 13, Amazon review and book cover results improve dramatically. The attached file replaces the loop beginning at line 95 of Record.php |

r2630 favors ISBN-10 over ISBN-13 for better API results. It even takes things a step further, translating ISBN-13 into ISBN-10 when possible in case a raw ISBN-10 is not available. |
