The Mendeley API ( http://dev.mendeley.com ) can be used to find information about citations and related articles. This seems useful for enhancing Summon results (i.e. offering a "Similar Items" section on the record view). The attached patch is a very simple proof-of-concept implementation; this can probably be expanded to enhance other parts of VuFind as well.
