The generic VuFind gadget for the SciVerse platform (currently in development at time of this writing) can take advantage of Dublin Core data embedded in RSS feeds. It also uses a special GET parameter to override VuFind's RSS-specific custom sorting in order to pull results more consistent with standard VuFind searches. The attached patch adds both of these features to VuFind 1.2 (and can probably be adapted easily to several earlier versions). If you wish to use the gadget, applying this patch will enhance its functionality.

| The attached sciverse-for-vufind-1.0.1.patch file offers an upgrade for version 1.0.1 of VuFind (as opposed to sciverse.patch, which is for version 1.2). |
