VuFind Newsletter: December, 2020

December is usually a quiet month for the project due to holiday breaks in many parts of the world, and this was no exception. Nonetheless, there was some development activity (mostly minor bug fixes/improvements, but also some initial work on new features), as well as a couple of significant events: VuFind 7.0.2 was released, fixing some more bugs, and a video about XML Change Tracking and Email Alerts was recorded outside of the regular Community Call in response to a request.

The following items were completed in the past month:

• Account AJAX fixes: #1803
• Filter out empty arrays when extracting author data in EDS record driver: #1802
• KohaRest: Check that item_id is set before sending it to Koha: #1809
• Make it possible to call renderTemplate for optional templates: #1806
• Make the ISO2709 reader more robust: #1800
• Update wikimedia/less.php to 3.1.0: #1808
• Updated translations: #1801

The following items were reported / begun in the past month, but are not yet completed:

• Add support for clearing account (fines) cache based on status information: #1804
• Configurable top facet override of alphabetical sort for limits: #1807
• Cover backlink to vendor: #1805
• Enable ES6 in eslint: #1810
• Review Javascript configuration options in theme.config.php: VUFIND-1437 / #1799

• Add configurable change tracking to XSLT examples: VUFIND-1461
• Problem with Summon: VUFIND-1462

The following items saw significant progress / activity during the past month:

• Add support for record “versions” display: VUFIND-120 / #1581
