VuFind® Community Call Minutes: October 3, 2023

The September, 2023 Newsletter was discussed.

Release 9.1 has been scheduled for release on October 30.

The following pull requests are scheduled for inclusion in release 9.1:

• #2688 - Announce number of search results in title
  • Status: awaiting input from PR creator (@stephanieleary) - Demian proposes moving to 10.0 milestone due to inactivity
• #2991 - Add filtering capability to facet list pop-up
  • Status: in review/under discussion
• #2999 - Get unique html element id from record view helper
  • Status: changes extracted from #2874; Demian proposes moving to 10.0 milestone due to inactivity
• #3113 - Fix: combined filter dropdown padding and colors
  • Status: in review
• #3129 - Accessible cart update announcements
  • Status: in review
• #3132 - Upgrade to Solr 9.3.0
  • Status: probably ready to merge; waiting on a little more real-world testing. Ere checked for known issues on the solr-user mailing list and found nothing concerning; since the release came out in July it seems likely to be stable. The PR just needs a Lucene match version update, as Solr/Lucene versions are no longer in sync with one another – Demian will address this.

The following JIRA tickets represent features, fixes and improvements that do not yet have an active PR associated with them:

• VUFIND-1599 - FOLIO: improve documentation/error handling around permissions
  • Status: Demian proposes moving to 10.0 milestone if no progress is made very soon
• VUFIND-1604 - Templates: components do not work inside of slots
  • Status: Demian proposes moving to 10.0 milestone if no progress is made very soon
• VUFIND-1607 - Embedded records (in results list) have invalid aria and/or role attributes
  • Status: Demian proposes moving to 10.0 milestone if no progress is made very soon
• VUFIND-1608 - Update language translation files for release 9.1
  • Status: in progress

Chris was on vacation this month, so discussion was deferred.

In the United States, Daylight Saving Time will end on November 5, the weekend before the next Community Call. The change may occur on a different date in other regions, so please check your calendar to be sure you arrive at the correct time (14:00 GMT) next month.
