VuFind Newsletter: July, 2020

July was a big month for VuFind releases, with release 6.1.2 ending the 6.x series of releases with a stable and more accessible package, and 7.0 launching the 7.x series of releases with its complete migration to Laminas and Symfony Console and the addition of several new features. Leading up to the 7.0 release, a significant amount of outstanding work was completed, including some improved security features, bug fixes, and small new features.

Please be aware that a significant display bug related to combined search has been discovered in VuFind 7.0 and will be addressed in release 7.0.1; you may wish to delay upgrading until this is resolved, if you rely on the combined search module. Apologies for any inconvenience; see VUFIND-1411 for more details. Note that this problem DOES NOT impact release 6.1.2, so there is no need to delay that upgrade if you need it.

Another significant development this month is the opening of the Call for Papers for the Virtual VuFind Summit 2020. Please consider submitting proposals to help ensure we have a diverse and engaging program for the free online event!
