VuFind® includes default MARC import mappings (for use with SolrMarc) in the import/marc.properties file.

It is often necessary to customize your MARC mapping rules. In order to make future upgrades easier, it is recommended that you separate your local customizations from the VuFind® defaults by keeping them in a separate file.

Local MARC mappings can be kept in import/marc_local.properties, which may be stored under your local settings directory.
