Welcome to new RSP Marmot Library Network. C.J. O'Hara has been invited to represent Marmot at PMC meetings.

Two additional RSP's are still in-process.

Josef Moravec has agreed to join the team. The day of our recurring meeting has moved to accommodate his schedule, but so far no one has objected. He will join us for the first time next month.

Demian will present and record this tomorrow at the Community Call.

Susan, Demian, André and Craig have made progress updating wiki pages. The work is still ongoing.

Demian and Mohan continue to collaborate on Koha documentation, with more pieces being moved into the wiki and some testing currently pending. The existing documentation has already proved very valuable, as Demian has been able to refer to it on several occasions to successfully resolve incoming support emails.

Work is still pending on MeSH, DoAJ, PubMed Central and NepJol “open data sources” pages. Mohan also plans to contribute documentation related to integrating SubjectsPlus (which recently had example XSLT import configs added to the project) and Moodle (which is still being researched).

Another training / documentation discussion between RSP representatives took place on March 22, with a follow-up scheduled for this Wednesday. Mohan is still seeking volunteers to review training outlines and associated documentation, and would like to begin another round of training if instructors can be found. Galen has offered to begin outlining a manual project. There was also some interesting discussion of a collaborative writing process called “Booksprint” which Anne has used – it might be something to consider for a future in-person community event.

André has made significant progress with Lokalise, though some minor post-processing is still needed. It may be possible to address this post-processing with a custom web service.

André will present on this at the May 2 Community Call.

The OLF seeks volunteers to help with WOLFcon planning. Demian plans to participate, but would appreciate backup if others are planning to attend. He will be sure to advocate for grant/funding-related sessions on the agenda.

At present, no one (other than Demian) attending the call has committed to attending WOLFcon yet, though some are considering. Chris is willing to assist if no one else volunteers, but it would be better to diversify participation beyond Villanova.

Goal Review:

• Release versions 9.0 and 9.1 (April / October?)
• Hold a VuFind Summit in Summer, 2023 linked with WOLFcon in some way
• Run fundraising campaign in parallel with summer conference season
• Complete a documentation improvement project
• Complete a website improvement project (marketing-oriented)
• Finish implementation of standard translation platform
• Investigate possible training partnerships and fundraising around training materials

Next planned “membership drive” – in tandem with next Summit, which in turn will likely be timed around the next WOLFcon.

André has received a quote for a security audit; it seems likely that FINC can fund a first round security audit now, and future audit follow-ups could be candidates for funding by the project. There was discussion about possible priorities and strategies for the audit. André will reach out to the vendor for clarification on what type of input will be most helpful, and then the PMC will contribute answers to the vendor's questions.

Mohan has proposed building an endowed fund so that the project can grow interest. Demian talked to Scott at OLF and learned that we have a couple of options. We could set up a “business savings” account with some interest, but the rates are very low, making it unlikely to be worth the effort. Another option could be to invest funds in a CD, which would yield higher interest but make the funds unavailable for the term of the certificate. Scott suggests that this is not worth doing unless we have at least $10,000 to invest and are sure we will not need it for anything else.

Mohan will draft a fundraising strategy plan for discussion at the next meeting.

Demian has shared the Q1 2023 web usage stats for vufind.org with the group. Ere took a look at these and didn't see major surprises. PMC meeting pages seem to be getting a lot of attention (perhaps from people beyond the PMC itself). Blender configuration is also getting a lot of traffic, even though it isn't released yet.
